| It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our schools website and the opportunity it gives me to tell you about the school.
At the Al Maha School for Girls we offer what I believe is a unique educational experience in Doha; we combine the best of educational practice from across the world with a strong Islamic ethos in a girls only school. Our students are encouraged to achieve high academic standards in an environment which promotes Islamic ideals.
We offer an education through the medium of English but we are still determined that our students should also achieve high standards in Arabic and Islamic Studies. We aim to ensure that Arabic is given the same prominence as English. Our English medium curriculum is heavily based on the British curriculum but we adapt it to meet the learning needs of the girls, their interests and the culture and traditions of Qatar.
Our staff come from many different parts of the world but they are all chosen for their excellent teaching skills and their empathy for the ethos of the school.
We aim to ensure that every girl is happy in school because children learn best when they feel safe and secure. We aim to develop in our students a good balance between work and leisure. In support of this aim, we run an extensive Extra Curricular Activities programme.
