Hello to the Al-Maha English Schools Community!

My name is Ms Louise Ruskin, and I am thrilled to be joining the school as Principal of the Dafna Kindergarten in September 2009.

I am a British trained teacher with over 20 years experience of working mainly with young children aged 2 to 8 years. After graduating I taught in London before moving onto my first overseas post in Istanbul, Turkey. Since then I have been Principal of two Kindergartens; The British International School Istanbul Pre-Schools and The English International School, Istanbul - a new school which I had the privilege of helping set-up. I have also taught in Hungary and other locations in the UK; for the last 2 years I have been working as a Headteacher Consultant in London whilst completing an MA in Education.

I am now ready and excited to commence a new adventure in Qatar!

I believe that all those in the school community are there to work collectively for the children; parents, teachers, assistants, support staff and management together have a very important role in providing children with a stimulating, caring and safe environment in which they can develop; physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively.

I look forward to working together with all members of the Dafna Kindergarten community to build on existing good practice, and strive towards developing an even better environment for our children to grow and learn. Looking forward to meeting everyone in September, and wishing you a wonderful summer holiday!
